Protected Software Use Audit Log

People,

We have an intriguing technical challenge. How to write a secure audit file that tracks software usage, so licensing fees can be based on usage, making it more accessible to those who use it less.

In particular, TickZoom is selling an alpha-generation platform for hedge funds, which currently costs $ 2,000 / month for a license, including support (will be more than doubled soon). This is great for institutions, but too expensive for people. Individuals often ask for a lower price in exchange for a% of the profits made using the software until they can pay a fixed fee.

We like this offer. But we need a reliable way to check the profits actually created on the platform, and a way to prevent users from being "distracted" by deleting or overwriting the audit file, thereby reporting lower revenues than the actual ones.

This application is written in C #, and this part of the system is obfuscated, at least making it difficult to decrypt it.

Another requirement is to write to a file for each transaction, which occurs to allow a deeper audit if the user feels that there is some difference in the total amount. Thus, individual trading profit can be compared with the statements of the broker.

Of course, it is assumed that the file will be encrypted.
