What are the benefits of having custom commands with the <Leader> key on Vim?

One obvious advantage is whenever you decide to change combinations that you could easily make by changing the key mapleader.

This can happen when your favorite plugin conflicts with your favorite shortcut. By changing mapleader, you essentially keep the shortcut, but change it at the same time.
