Proper setup for IIS7.5 computer account for anonymous access to website

Using IIS 7.5, it is intended to use the IIS_IUSRS account. I get "401 - unauthorized access: access denied due to invalid credential error." If I add an EVERYONE account to Read, it will work. But rather, you do not have an Everyone account. Any idea why IIS_IUSRS is not working? It has read access. Anonymous access = enabled. Specific User = IUSR

As a side, in the section "Basic settings ..." for the site, the button "Test parameters" says "ok-on Authenticate", but authorization "cannot verify access to the path."

In IIS 7.5, this changed from an IIS_IUSRS account to a user in the top-level IIS AppPools window group

if you create an application pool named

www.mysite.com

then by default the created account by default created a user account that becomes

IIS AppPools \ www.mysite.com

Check out the following Microsoft Doc in Resource Protection to see more.
