Where is the difference between searching and identifying a resource?

What is the difference between a URI and a URL?

Is there any difference? I am talking about a URI for identification, but a URL for search. Isn't it the same thing?

They may look the same, but they are not the same thing. The URL identifies what can be transmitted over some protocol (often http). URIs can be used to define a namespace (for example) , but there may be non-content with an address.

Where is the difference between finding a source and identifying a resource?

Knowing who I am does not tell you anything about where I am.
