How to disable automatic addition of a wildcard in the Vista file open dialog box

I use the file open dialog to select image files for further editing. The filter list contains the entry "All supported formats", which is a long list of file formats. Because Vista automatically adds wildcards to the filter combo box, the expanded combo box is too large to fit the screen. In addition, it does not look very good. So is it possible to disable this behavior and let Vista display the original filter string?

Regards,
Daniel

Vista only adds the file format to the text, if you haven’t already. Therefore, if your filter is "All supported formats | * .jpg; *. Bmp; ...", then it will automatically add it, but if it is "All supported formats (*. *) | *. *", Then it does not "t. It checks for the presence of a wildcard, but does not verify that they match, so any of these approaches will work:

"All Supported Formats (*.*)|*.jpg;*.bmp;*.gif"
"All Supported Formats (*.jpg;...)|*.jpg;*.bmp;*.gif"
