Creating a WSRP Portlet with .net

I am working on a project where I need to create a WSRP portlet web service using ASP.net.

My first question is: what is WSRP? Are there any good examples? So far, I have decided that it is a SOAP xml standard that defines how to create a portlet that can be embedded in another portal. It is right?

I also planned to use MVC for this. Is that a good idea?

Any thoughts on WSRP are welcome. I'm still trying to understand what it is and how to create it.
