GPS operation: is there a service charge?

Some questions about the GPS receiver module:

  • If we buy a GPS GPS receiver module, do we have to pay monthly / temporary fees for using the facility?

  • Can I use data from the receiver to detect acceleration? Roughly how many accelerations can we measure? Will there be a problem with the data rate between the receiver and the laptop?

  • No. But the GPS network can be disconnected at any time, when it will be provided as an attraction, there is no "guarantee of service."
  • Maybe yes, but expect pretty rough measurements.

2: You can, since acceleration is a derivative of speed, and GPS receivers are pretty good speed measuring devices. But even a GPS receiver with avionics gives you a sampling frequency of 5 Hz, the cheapest - only 1 Hz, so not a good measurement of acceleration; he will tell you about very large accelerations that persist over a period of time.

Basically, if you want acceleration, get an accelerometer, that's right.
