YUI - Pros and Cons

I am about to start a new project and plan to use YUI and my JS and CSS framework for the following reasons:

  • Treeview with tri-state flags (seems to be the best implementation I could find)
  • Calandar (seen others, but since No. 1 on YUI, I'm glad he also has a calendar)
  • CSS framework (going to use 960, but could go 100% Yahoo).

I plan to use only 1 JS infrastructure.

Anyone see any problems with my solution?

  • Sometimes a little detailed (YUI2), but in YUI3 they improved it, in my opinion, they are not entirely agreeable. Also, many users liked the detailed syntax (I liked in most cases).

Verdict:

  • Generic YUI is really good javascript if you ask me.

If you already have sufficient experience with YUI, I would suggest trying JQuery. It is well maintained and easy to learn and use.
