I want to embed video files (.mp4, m4v, avi) on a website ... and let people play them as usual

How can i do this? I would like them to be able to click on play, pause, volume and, of course, full-screen mode.

I heard that you can do this with QuickTime or something else? Anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: These video files are located on other user servers. (We are a search engine)

I just want to pass the URL of the .mp4 file ... and a bit of java-script so that the user can play it.
