NetBeans IDE in Oracle

Question

I was a little worried about what I just read. I did some research because I wanted to start programming in Java, and I came to the conclusion that NetBeans is the best development environment for me because of its Swing GUI Designer and powerful reporting with Jasper reports (iReport).

However, Oracle (which Sun will buy soon) does not seem to care about NetBeans. Since I will start building appz in Java for too long, I would like to know your opinion on the following question:

Should I continue to use NetBeans, despite rumors that Oracle will stop it, or will I make another version of the IDE?

PS: Basically, NetBeans will be a choice, but due to the current circumstances, I doubt this decision.

Oracle spent a lot of time and money on its JDeveloper product. It has some pretty neat features. But this is not much in the industry, because many Java developers do not like the use of proprietary software, although Oracle makes a pretty big game over its commit to open standards.
