What database to use for standalone flex application?

I plan to develop a separate application that will be used for personal purposes. Thus, only one user access can exist. I want to develop it in Flex. I just want some opinions from the gurus to be here:

  • Should I use Flex or AIR (I only know Flex, AIR I need to start learning)
  • Which database should I use? SQLLite or HSQLDB or some others.

HSQLDB is the simplest and, if your application does not process a lot of data, it is easiest to distribute it using a stand-alone application. This is a good database for storing data in desktop applications.
