Will "mod_status" in apache slow down my application?

Question

If I wanted to track the response time of my requests, should I use Apache mod_statusor use the Passenger passenger-statustools feature ?

My concern is that turning on will mod_statusslow down my applications, but I still do not need to compare, since I need to run mod_statusto compare performance.

By the way, the status of a passenger-passenger gives me only some trivial information:
