Good VPS performance analysis tools (does VPS work on WordPress blogs)?

What tools would you recommend for analyzing VPS performance? In particular, I am launching several Wordpress blogs on VPS and would like to find some tools that will help me find problems that are worth paying attention to (so I can turn to them).

I use New Relic to get some information about where to focus on our Rails applications and find it very useful.

I have a feeling that there may be problems with memory usage. I would like to see something that shows memory usage over time, so that I can see how my memory looks. I am considering upgrading VPS and this will be one useful piece of data.

"top" is always a good place to run in the terminal.

but http://scoutapp.com/ is a really good monitoring app and easily implemented on vps servers
