Is the list of all products on the footer of the main page making the real difference SEO-wise?

I am working on a website on which I am asked to add to the page footer a list of all the products that are sold on the website, as well as a link to the product details pages.

The problem is that about 900 elements are displayed. This not only looks good, but also makes the page much slower.

I was told that this technique will improve the visibility of the site in the search engine. I also heard that such methods can lead to the opposite effect: google sees it as "spam."

My question is: Is listing of website products on its homepage really effective when it comes to becoming more visible on search engines?

This method is called keyword filling and Google says this is not a good idea:

“Key Filling” refers to the practice of loading a web page with keywords in an attempt to manipulate the ranking of a site in Google search results. Filling the pages with keywords leads to a negative user experience and can harm your site. Focus on creating useful, information-rich content that uses keywords appropriately and in context.
