Port Number for Incoming Apple Push Notifications

Which network services, port numbers, outgoing inbound, or both should be open on the network to connect iPod touch to receive Apple Push notifications?

I know that the outgoing port number is set when sending apns. The only thing is that almost every outgoing (and incoming) port is blocked at my school, and as a result, APNs do not work. I am sure that if I talked with my network administrator and told him which port to unlock, he would do it. So my question is: which network services, port numbers, outgoing inbound, or both should be open on the network to connect iPod touch to receive Apple Push notifications?

According to Apple docs : port 5223.

If the device is connected via Wi-Fi and still cannot receive notifications, you are using a Wi-Fi network, perhaps a firewall that blocks port 5223. This port must be open for TCP traffic to notify you of operation.

For APNS to work on your network, you must be able to communicate with 17.0.0.0/8/10223. A TCP connection is made from an iOS device to * .push.apple.com. No inbound TCP connections are required.
