OpenCV with QT on Maemo 5 (N900)

Question

Since the presentation of Eero Bragg at Amterdam devdays about QT / QT-Creator, I was looking for an excuse to try hands on mobile development. Now this excuse has appeared in the form of Nokia N900, my new phone!

My other hobby is computer vision, so my first idea for applications that you need to try to build, lies in this direction. Now my questions are:

• Has anyone tried QT Creator + OpenCV + Maemo 5? I see that there is a summer opencv port for Meamo Diablo (4.1) has anyone tried this on Maemo 5?
• I see that improvements in the OpenCV port were among Meamo google in the summer of 2009 concepts that didn't cut. Is there any work being done there?
• How easy is it to get images from the phone’s camera and convert them something opencv understands?
• Does anyone have any useful links to share?

A project was not selected, and AFAIK involved people did not complete the project.
