What type of file do you recommend to play a really small video?

I am going to play a small video in a video game. This will be a maximum of about 2-4 seconds per file.

I need them to play back inside my working WPF Form application, and they should be relatively small, because I'm going to include them in the size of the dongload (they will be part of the .exe file)

Should I use GIF? Or .AVI? or mp4?

I am looking for ease of incorporation into my existing WPF project and small size .: D I do not need playback options, I just need it to play in a loop.

Thanks for the help .: D

What I need for the format:

  • Small size of each video / animation file. (I will add about 70 of them)
  • No need to install additional codecs on the end user machine. I should not bother them with absolutely anything regarding video / animation playback.
  • Medium to high quality.
  • Pretty easy to implement using an existing WPF control.

DIVX is a great format, although you will want to copy CODEC into your application.
