Get recursive data in Sitecore CMS.NET

Question

Does anyone know how to recursively get children of an element in a Sitecore web element? I would prefer not to use the Sitecore query, because some of my paths have dashes in them that really twist things. The Sitecore.Context.Item.getChildren () and Sitecore.Context.Item.Children properties returned only top-level children.

From Sitecore, there seems to be a way to do this - Item.Axes.GetDescendants ()
