Amazon S3 Software Delivery

I hope someone can help me answer this dilemma that I have.

I am ready to release my new software and related content files. Since the file size for the full version is huge, I can’t use the usual delivery methods. The main download is 450 MB, and then additional packages of about 250 MB in size for each additional product.

Therefore, I plan to use Amazon S3 servers to host and deliver software.

  • Does anyone have a real situation regarding and against this method for how I want to use the system?
  • Does Amazon S3 offer renewable downloads?
  • Is there an open source tool that I can use and modify that I can provide my end users with as a download tool that I can program so that they can only download what they ordered?
  • Is there a commercial tool available for the above task?
  • I need to advise how I will automate all this for each user. As soon as the customer completes the order, I am fine with manual processing of som stuff for delivery, but automated is the best.

Thanks to everyone. DC
