J2me implementation for Linux or others

Question

I am looking for information on how to create a j2me implementation. My goal is a shared linux host ... does it already exist? I mean a way to run j2me applications on Linux without an emulator? Do you know where to find the information?

Why would you want to do that?

The only reason I ask is j2me apps designed for mobile devices. This means that you can not run j2me-applications on a standard computer without any emulator?!?

when creating j2me applications on Linux, the netbeans emulator had everything I ever needed
