Starting tomcat, because the service is not registered in catalina.out

Pretty simple: When I run startup.sh or shutdown.sh, the information is logged in catalina.out. When I run it as a service (i.e. sudo service tomcat6 start/stop), nothing is written to this log. Is this registration elsewhere? Is this registration at all? This is a new tomcat6 installation on ubuntu 9.10

Ok, I found them. The service registers them here: / Var / Log / tomcat6 /

In addition, the service uses files in / etc / tomcat 6 for configuration purposes.
