How to remove close buttons on editor tabs in NetBeans?

Option three in this specification is what I want, but I do not see any information on how to include it, or it is something that has even been implemented.

Is there a plugin or secret option that will allow me to remove the close buttons on the tabs. I always use the middle click or keyboard - the close buttons take up a lot of space.

Well, this is not exactly option 3, but here's how to completely hide the tight buttons - run netbeans with the -J-Dnb.tabs.suppressCloseButton key = true, for example,

[NetbeansDirectory] / bin / netbeans -J-Dnb.tabs.suppressCloseButton = true
