Screen fonts look blurry compared to Excel

I am evaluating the SpreadsheetGear component for processing Excel files. However, from the window, fonts look slightly blurry or foggy when the same table is viewed next to Excel. Is there some kind of smoothing setting that I am missing?

Or is it design?
