Facebook application: saving thumbnails of user photos

Question

I am creating a Facebook application that (as part of its function) displays photos of an FB user. The conditions of this question are a little fuzzy for me, so I decided that I was wondering here:

Does anyone know if it is acceptable to create thumbnails of my FB photos and store them on my server? If so (if I have offline_access permissions and all that) should I update it every 24 hours?
