I would like to ask my system administrator to install various Perl modules, such as Mooseand Data::Alias. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 system is running Perl 5.8.8. The only problem I can think of is that some already installed modules may need to be updated and thus risk breaking something. What else do I need to worry about?
Moose
Data::Alias
I do not know your company policy, but it would probably be better not to contact your system perland install additional libraries and their prerequisites (and even dedicated ones perl) elsewhere and use lib.
perl
lib
See also. How to save your own module / library directory? in perlfaq .
Our system administrators are those who are interested in ensuring that the requested Perl modules do not break anything else on their systems.
