I understand that they have an API, but some of the questions that I have will not be answered by them, and it would be great to receive feedback from others who have integrated it before.
I mainly work with a website where visitors can sell the goods sold to the site owner.
If the user decides to sell, he can enter the product specifications and get a quote. He will then go to his address, and I assume that I will have to check the use of the Fedex API before or during the part where he creates the delivery shortcut.
So, assuming the address is verified, it looks like the script in the API that I should interact with is /Ship/Ground/Domestic/ShipGroundDomestic.php5(as we will not integrate any type of send type yet).
- Is this a script that actually creates the shipment and pays for the account setup, if everything goes well, does it return an xml response with status?
- Since it is based on SOAP - I understand that there are options for the type of labels for printing in pdf and png format, it looks like it generates a label, but where is it actually stored, is it just temporary?
- In the script, it specifies the parameters for the API key, password, account # and counter #, so I would really need to know the credentials of the site owners, since it charges a fee for creating items / shortcuts that I cannot use a normal account with which has no CC setting, can I?
- I canβt test anything without contacting them and not letting them know that my account goes into test mode? Or is there an additional parameter for test mode?
