Send and receive data through the mains

I'm not interested in a hardware solution, I want to know about software that can "read" the modulated signal received through the power supply - some low-level driver, a power signal in a convenient place and demodulate it.

Is there a way to get a signal from the computer's power source? I am interested in an API or library that would allow me to see a computer as a node in Network Line Communication and receive data directly through a power cable, without the need for a converter. Are there any active studies in this area?

Edit:

There is software that reads monitors and displays the internal components of the voltage - DC voltage after conversion and filtering using a power source. Now I need a data encoding method that will be invariant to conversion and filtering, the original signal built into the AC is present in some form in the converted DC signal.

This is very unlikely without the addition of any equipment.
