I'm trying to see a surveillance camera system. Remote access is available through the website, and on this website, it seems like you need to download a .cab file full of goodies to allow me to view the cameras.
On some of my systems, this installation process is beautiful.
On a few, especially with a slow Internet, I get into an endless loop: going to a page waiting for a long period of time (I assume this is where it loads the CAB file) by clicking on the yellow bar so that it "installs this CAB file for all users "and reloading the page. He never appears with a window saying, “Are you sure it’s great to install this material?”
Is there a good way that I can take a step with a little code? I downloaded the CAB file and extracted its contents. It contains DLLs and SetupScript.vbs. I tried just running the SetupScript.vbs program, and I tried to manually register the DLLs with regsrv32. I even copied the necessary .OCX and .INF files to C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\and modified the registry to mimic the one where the installation went smoothly.
Despite this, when I am on a web page, it still takes forever, and then returns to the loop described above.
What APIs do I need to "correctly" register this component so that IE can see it? Or is there something simpler that I am missing?
Can someone point me in the right direction to solve this? IE8 Browser, OS - Vista.
Thanks!
