The phone does not have Quicktime, at least not in the traditional sense. Video playback is processed by a special decoder in the SoC system. You cannot configure the video player in any significant way, as this can lead to it falling off the hardware decoding path, and it is quite possible that the Apple device does not even have a software decoder.
So, in other words, you are limited to the options presented by MPMoviePlayerController . If you need additional configuration, you should send a bug with Apple asking for an opportunity and explaining why you need it, but I suspect that this is a hardware limitation.
