WCF and HttpSessionState, HttpApplicationState

I am porting a web service to WCF, so I can use binary encoding. Now I understand that session calls and application state calls are not recognized. WCF is supposed to be better than a web service, so I guess there is a better way to do something.

1) How to save a session and call a web service using the session?

2) How to replace the application object?
