Setting up the WYSIWYG editor for Drupal site users

Looking through the Drupal contrib, and after several Google searches, it becomes apparent that there are many options and combos for setting up the WYSIWYG editor in Drupal. I hope that I can do it simply and quickly and painlessly, and there is no need to continue to check different combos until no one works correctly.

This is what I need:

  • The main WYSIWYG editor is for the "filtered" input type only.
  • It is not necessary to have an insert for the image, although it may be nice later ...
  • Easy setup and maintenance.
  • You need to work for Content-Profiles, Blog, Forum-post and several custom content types.

Check out the wysiwyg module ( http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg ), which allows you to install and test different editors, and you can associate different editors with different input types.

Personally, I found fckeditor a good choice to allow editors to create content - but I think the final choice depends on personal preferences. Using the wysiwyg module, you can demonstrate the range.
