What is the recommended way to create MSI packages in VS 2010?

Last year, I heard that the installer projects are leaving, and we have to switch to Windows Installer XML. What happened to this?

So, you know where I come from, support for TFS-based buil machines is very important to me. I know that installers do some work with TFS, but they have problems.

IronRuby uses Wix, but this requires support and scripts. I haven't looked into parrafin or anything like that, but a combination of the Parrafin (sort of) script and WIX will probably work well.
