OpenERP, data recovery problem

I am trying to restore a database backup through the open ERP client interface. The message "Failed to restore the database." I am using Postgresql 8.4.1

Please, help!

You can restore your db directly from pgadmin by making empty db and restoring your db. and another way is the postgres command line below. Create --- createdb db_name

To restore ---- psql created db_name <from which db you want to restore

Can I back up on a single server? I had similar problems with new installations when I did not create . Pgpass file . The configuration parameters db_userand db_passwordare used during normal access to the database, but can not be used to backup and restore PostgreSQL. To backup and restore you need to configure the .pgpass file.
