Why bean stateless pool?

Usually we use a singleton instance for the business / dao level. What is the reason for merging a stateless beans session in the case of EJB?

“Stateless” in the name refers to the state of the session, that is, to the state that is maintained between the bean calls held throughout the session. However, a beans-free session is still allowed to have instance variables. These instance variables should not be related to the state of the conversation, but "shared" between clients.
