How do you do access control in C #?

How do you do access control at the business logic level in C #? Last night I started messing around with a simple system that lives inside LINQ objects, but I realized that I had never seen a particularly clean access control system. I would like to know how the gurus do this, and see if I noticed spots in my night toy.

It seems to me that I'm hopping through unnecessary hoops to create a read-only flexible access control object. It looks like there should be some kind of pre-installed widget that I don't know about.
