The pain of creating a global application

Question

I need to create a global application. This means that it should work fine anywhere in the world, in any country (or most of them). This is a PHP website that will deal with money and time at specific points.

I wish I knew a good resource for countries, related time zones, currency formatting, symbols and codes, such things ...

If anyone has any advice on this data and how can I use it in propper mode, I would be very grateful :)
