im using Windows and I used E-Texteditor but its not free n expired, can someone tell me some free text editor?

My official (who was pretty hard on using the IDE) just switched to VIM to develop Rails on Linux because RubyMine (the best of the lot) was too buggy in X.
use Vim (+ macro)
I suggest ATOM from github. It works like a charm. Used it to develop a Rails application and loved it.
