.NET is becoming increasingly popular, with many new systems based on it. People (including me) love .NET for many things.
When I started my adventure in C #, the fact that this choice was chosen was the London Stock Exchange, which chose .NET / MS SQL Server for transactional systems.
Now I heard that they have moved away from this (confirming the opinion of many of my friends that .NET and MSSQL are simply unable to do such work)
I'm interested in your opinion, does it make sense to create a professional / core system on .NET? I think mainly about performance, scalability, reliability, etc.
Perhaps high-level languages are not a good choice for this, and we should stay with the C ++ language family?

I am considering a fairly large application (say, enterprise-level) with high, time-critical transactions.
The data size cannot be explicitly compared with the LSE, but since it intends to be the base system, the data size cannot be transferred. Multi-user interface with a sophisticated interface.
