EJB 2.1 beans object vs EJB 3.0 beans object

I had this doubt at some point, some say that in EJB 3.0 there is no such thing as entity beans. Is there any way to say this, EJB 3.0 uses JPA to save data, and there is no improvement for the beans object from the previous version (EJB 2.1) that it just returned. Another thing is that EJB 2.1 uses abstract POJOs and EJB 3.0 uses non-abstract POJOs. I need a clear description of these facts.

Objects managed by EJB3 / JPA are not EJBs, they are just POJOs. Entities in EJB 1/2, however, are EJBs, with strict restrictions on their hierarchy.

EJB2 , EJB3 .
