Change screen resolution in Snow Leopard

I have been closing this for several hours for several hours and have not found a good answer. In Leopard, I can programmatically change the screen resolution using Quartz Display Services with CGConfigureDisplayMode . Unfortunately, this was deprecated at 10.6.

This seems like a simple task: how to change the screen resolution using non-obsolete methods in Snow Leopard?

Functionality has been updated; take a look at CGConfigureDisplayWithDisplayModeat <CoreGraphics/CGDisplayConfiguration.h>.
