What do I need to do to get OpenOffice.org Calc to read VBA code in an Excel file?

My employer is considering installing the OpenOffice.org product suite for Office products instead of using Microsoft Office. I have written several advanced applications in Access and Excel, and I'm trying to figure out what will and will not be compatible with OpenOffice.org.

In particular, what do I need to make Calc (OpenOffice.org version for Excel) read and execute VBA in macros and related macro combinations with the click of a button?

Also note that I am using the MySQL Connector from Excel to dynamically update data in a spreadsheet. What do I need to do to maintain the ability to connect data to our MySQL server?

thanks

As far as I know, OOo Base can connect to the mdb file to the extent that it can open tables and queries. I think something else - forms, reqportes, VBA and native macros - would need to be rebuilt.

I don’t think OOo Calc can read or execute VBA: it has its own Basic dialect, which has variant syntax. In my opinion, this is not how I understand it, supports the concept of a class. Some work seems to be happening, however, see the OpenOffice Wiki for more information. Right now, I would say you should plan a thorough and complete rewrite.
