NetBeans IDE for PHP / Ruby

I just stumbled upon a NetBeans website and found its PHP and Ruby IDE. I want to know how popular NetBeans and plugins for SVN are really as good as plugins for Eclipse?

I use NetBeans to work in Java and UML, and at home for C, C ++, Java, UML, and Python. I have no problem with this or it supports version control systems such as SVN, CVS and ClearCase. It is as simple, if not easier, than Eclipse to make everything work the way you want. However, I found that for some things it would be harder to find a plugin for.
