Dynamic output update in the command line interface

Question

I really want to know how to print the output on the terminal screen, similar to what is indicated in the "top" command.

What I want to say ... dynamically update existing output in a terminal window.

A small program or link to related resources is expected ....

I think you want to check ncurses (or * curses or something suitable for termio on your platform). ANSI escape sequences are also of interest :)
