Built-in PDF overlapping menu in FireFox

I pretty much understand this problem. I searched for a while, and although I find many messages with people having the same problem as me, I do not find any answers or solutions for these messages.

The problem is this: we have a PDF viewer built into the report site. The user has the ability to view the PDF file in browswer or upload it. We have a drop-down menu so that the user can navigate to different replicas. The menu overlaps the PDF viewer when it crashes. In IE, he views the PDF viewer, as it should. In FireFox, he goes beyond the viewer and turns off.

Here is the snipit code:

<div style="position: relative; height: 347px; z-index: 1;" id="divPDF">
<span style="width: 100%; height: 100%;" id="PDFViewer1">
    <div>
        <object width="100%" height="100%" type="application/pdf" data="report.pdf#toolbar=1&amp;navpanes=0&amp;scrollbar=1&amp;view=FitH">
            <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
            <embed src="report.pdf#toolbar=1&amp;navpanes=0&amp;scrollbar=1&amp;view=FitH" type="application/pdf" width="100%" height="100%" wmode="opaque"></embed>
            <a href="report.pdf">Download PDF</a>
        </object>
    </div>
</span>  </div>

I had the same problem. I fixed this by hiding the report when the user clicked the dropdown menu and then displaying it again when the menu was hidden. This is basically a hack, but it works and allows me to have both a built-in report and my drop-down menu.
