Can Java be used to write a Win32 system service?

The type of header summarizes it. I thought about using Jabaco , seeing that it makes .EXE (as well as .jar files), and I'm more familiar with VB than with Java.

You could do it with Java Wrapper . I am not familiar with Jabaco, but I would not be surprised if you could just reference the Jabaco runtime using the Java Service Wrapper. This is a fairly simple tool to use, and a free option should be sufficient.
