The consequences of not updating the package version for the iPhone application?

Last week, I introduced an update for one of my iPhone apps and realized that I forgot to change the package version in Info.plist before I sent it. The update fixes a critical error, so I want to bring it to the store as soon as possible. Application update not yet approved. I am discussing the question of replacing the binary with an updated version of the package or leave it alone.

What are the consequences of releasing a package version just like a previous version of an application?
