Still no OPTGROUP?

I read in dojo trac 3 years ago a concern that dojo combobox needs to implement option groups. I am using version 1.3.2 and my combo is not working. Groups still not supported all this time?

It seems that there is no way to use optgroups in combobox widgets. This ticket was closed and not a single new one was opened. Also, in fact, data cannot be represented sequentially in dojo.data. It would be possible to create your own solution for this by editing dijit, but just manage optgroups in a way that makes sense for your application.
