JQuery hosted on Google CDN: Why do I need Internet access?

I am using jQuery from google CDN .

I looked at cache control and it seems like the browser should fully cache the jQuery version for a long time.

However, when I turn off Internet access, my web pages stop working. What for? Is this because while jQuery is cached, does the browser still need DNS resolution?
