In the general release of Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 today, this latest version created a lot of hype and interest.
In fact, the opinion that I appreciated was that VS 2010 resolved many minor flaws left over from previous versions, and also added a particularly useful new code editor and project development tools (in particular, Premium / Ultimate).
My question here is: what are your favorite new features in VS 2010 that really excited you? Or similarly, what are the weaknesses of VS 2008 that you are most pleased to resolve?
There are many changes in VS 2010, but these are some of the ones that I was most interested in (of which I know!).
- Integrated support for F # (with support for multiple targeting for .NET 2.0 - 4.0) /
- A lot of advanced designer WPF. VS 2008 was more than sometimes wrong.
- Great improvements in the code editor, such as viewing the call hierarchy.
- A decent add-in structure.
- In the advanced testing platform (currently it can be used to test the database, for example) in Premium / Ultimate.
- Project planning and modeling features in Premium / Ultimate.
If I could request one point / function per message, I think it would be better, so we could vote for them individually.
