Collect requirements with Team Foundation Server

Can I use TFS 2008 / VS 2008 to collect requirements and create work items (top level) for the solution? Our BAs currently use Visio and Word to cover our requirements, so there is no formal description of the user story based on the UML user interface, although I try to implement something like this.

Our solutions mainly use the following technological mix:

VB.Net/C# 3.5sp1 MatLab 2009b SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 Oracle 10g Office 2003/2007 (VBA and VSTO)

I searched on Google sites first and on Microsoft, but all this is a bit vague, using responsive third-party process templates and interacting with other existing BA tools that we don’t have.

There has to be a best practice approach, I just can't find it anywhere.

Setting up or creating TFS project templates is very simple, you install TFPT (Power Foundation Power Tools) on your client, and the Process Editor menu will be added to the Tools menu in Visual Studio, in which you can easily apply any setting.

So basically you can create a work item type for your requirements or anything else that meets the definition of “Work item”.
